Within the Office of the General Counsel, the Athletics team supports the Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA), an Affiliated Organization dedicated to achieving the Institute’s mission through an expansive intercollegiate athletics program. Benefiting an athletics program of seventeen varsity sports and supporting more than 400 student-athletes and 150 coaches and staff members, the Athletics team blends both legal and compliance expertise.

Through this dual approach, we ensure alignment and adhere to the highest standards set by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Institute, and GTAA. Grounded in educational outreach, consistent monitoring and enforcement, our comprehensive compliance program provides timely education, rule interpretations, and active measures to prevent potential rule violations.

Beyond regulatory compliance, we’re committed to cultivating a proactive compliance culture that echoes GTAA and the Institute’s core values, empowers sound decision-making and fosters open communications.
